The State College Area School District is searching for a Secretary for both the Park Forest Elementary and the Spring Creek Elementary Schools. The Building Secretary works with students, parents, and visitors. Responsibilities include the management of the Principal's calendar and meeting schedule; all school-related budget processes; coordination of building communications; and, management of difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy.
The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; demonstrate a commitment to diversity; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, customer service, administrative, and organizational skills; and have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team
Experience in a secretarial, accounting, or administrative assistant position is required. Experience in public education, budgeting, and/or completion of an accredited secretarial and/or accounting training program is preferred.
