PURPOSE OF JOB: To effectively plan, coordinate, and provide intensive student behavior support services and data collection from such services in-district under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) by working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement positive behavior supports and behavior support plans that require consistent and significant behavioral support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide direct student instruction, and assist staff with implementation, in one-on-one and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment teaching (NET) arrangements. Follow prescribed behavior skills acquisition and behavior change protocols. Assist with preparing materials as necessary.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior. Assist with skill acquisition and

  • behavioral assessments. Collect data on all programming.
  • Document interventions, progress data, and session notes on a timely manner
  • Assist with staff training of student's individualized treatment and behavior change protocols, through direct teaching, modelling, and fidelity checks.
  • Immediately report to BCBA any student incidents/variances or concerns.
  • Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA. Collaborate with school teams as necessary.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, including annual renewal and registration (see district for reimbursement.)
    • Maintain RBT supervision requirements
    • Maintain CPI certification (provided in-district)
    • 60 college hours with a grade point average of at least 2.5 and/or Paraprofessional Assessment through DESE.
    • Demonstrated Skills in working with children with behavioral challenges
    • Demonstrated skills in staff collaboration
    • Must be competent in the use of a computer and/or computer software
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Maintain a clear criminal record
    • Exhibit superior organizational skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Three (3) years successful experience working with children and staff
    • Coursework in childhood education

    While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, move and walk at a brisk pace, sit, and use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The ability to accompany students anywhere on school premises. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Regular attendance on the job is expected and necessary. Must be physically able to implement all BOE policies, District procedures, and perform CPI training and techniques.

    The employee must be physically able to react and intervene quickly during crisis situations, such as, but not limited to the following circumstances: student elopement, physical altercations involving students or any situation that requires physical intervention to maintain student safety.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Length of work year: 7.5 hours per day; 5 days/week; 261 days
