POSTION TITLE: Clerk
ASSIGNMENT: Clerk 1 - Migrant
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required
- Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of appropriate office practices and procedures
- Demonstrates skill in use of office equipment, including computers
PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Visits schools to determine the needs of migrant students and gather educational information on eligible students
- Submits enrollments to the District Office and MIS regarding migrant students
- Maintains and create area files for migrant students at the Federal Programs Office
- Assists in obtaining clothing, food, medical services, and other services needed by the migrant families
- Enrolls each migrant student, prepare reports, maintain records and input data on the database to share with other states
- Maintains a file of community resources and eligibility requirements
- Maintains close communication with the schools and parents regarding migrant students
- Assists in identification and recruitment as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Elementary Programs
- Assists schools as requested by the Principal/designee for non-migrant students, not to exceed 15% or 5 hours per week total for all schools assigned
