General Job Description: To perform maintenance on all teacherage units in the area; trouble shoot standard residential mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Receives general direction from the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Maintenance work within the Maintenance & Operations Department.
  2. Change out water faucets, toilets, sinks, duplex receptacles, change filters and belts on heating and air conditioning systems.
  3. Able to work on a ladder and perform work over head (change lightbulbs, paint, clean vents, etc.)
  4. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to:
  • Ability to prioritize facility repair needs.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid NM driver's license
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.

Equipment/Technology Handled: Must have basic computer skills.

Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
