  • Teach and promote student leadership throughout the curriculum.
  • Integrate technology and science into daily instruction along with providing opportunities to apply science and math concepts to real life situations based on approved curriculum.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate effective classroom instruction consistent with building and district curriculum/programs.
  • Participate in team planning, programming, and instructional activities focused on improving instructional practices and student learning.
  • Utilize district and state standards in developing curriculum.
  • Develop instructional goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment.
  • Recognizes individual students' needs and provide appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and the school community.
  • Participate in and/or direct extra-curricular programs, activities, meetings, and conferences as required.
  • Prepare teaching materials and reports (grades, attendance, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.
  • Participate in building and district in-service education/training programs.
  • Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required.
  • Know and observe safety procedures; maintain safe working conditions; comply with safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit and supporting student learning objectives.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • BS/BA Degree in Education.
  • Master's Degree in Education preferred.
  • Prior teaching in Mathmatics preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Current Washington State Teacher's Certificate with Mathmatics Endorsement.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Criminal background clearance.
