VFES has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to assume the role of Director of Adult & Recreation Services responsible for developing, expanding, and supervising VFES' Adult and Recreation Services (ARS) program which includes:
As the Director, you will serve on the VFES Leadership Team and provide direct supervision to the Supervisor of Specialized Recreation Services (SSRS) and a team of CWS Employment Specialists. For a full list of responsibilities, please refer to the attached job description.

VFES has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to assume the role of Director of Adult & Recreation Services responsible for developing, expanding, and supervising VFES' Adult and Recreation Services (ARS) program which includes:
- Customized Workforce Solutions (CWS), an adult employment services program;
- Vocational Immersion Program (VIP), a summer employment experience for young adults; and
- Specialized Recreation Services (SRS), summer camp, retreats, and year-round social activities for individuals with special needs.
As the Director, you will serve on the VFES Leadership Team and provide direct supervision to the Supervisor of Specialized Recreation Services (SSRS) and a team of CWS Employment Specialists. For a full list of responsibilities, please refer to the attached job description.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field; Master's preferred.
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the administration of adult employment and/or recreational services, including supervisory experience.
- Experience with program development, growth and expansion.
- Experience with Office of Developmental Programs (ODP), specifically Office of Intellectual Disability (OID) and Bureau of Supports for Autism and Special Populations (BSASP), and Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), including related systems of Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS) and Commonwealth and Workforce Development System (CWDS)/CareerLink.
- Ability to develop and implement recreation, social and leisure activities for children and adults with disabilities.
