About Us
KIPP Public Schools is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools committed to working alongside students and families to disrupt systemic educational inequity and create a future without limits. Over 100,000 students attend one of the 270 KIPP schools that operate in 28 regions across the United States. KIPP Philadelphia Schools Public Schools (KPPS) is a part of the national KIPP Public Schools network and currently leads six schools serving approximately 2,400 students in North and West Philadelphia. This fall, we will found our seventh school. By 2030, KPPS will lead ten schools serving approximately 4,000 students.

Our Mission
Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students to pursue the paths they choose-college, career, and beyond-so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.

Become a Founding Teacher: Meet Our Growing Needs!
KNPA was founded in 2019 and is led by veteran principal Ben Speicher. KNPA currently serves students in grades K-4 and will be opening 5th grade in 22-23. KNPA is a joyful, close-knit community of learners and educators. KNPA students engage in a well-rounded and academically rigorous program that includes one hour of math, science and social studies as well as 2.5 hours of literacy instruction daily. Students also have classes in art, PE, music, yoga, and social-emotional development and enjoy daily recess.

KNPA is proudly located in the heart of North Philadelphia and will ultimately grow to be a K-8 school serving almost 900 students. KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools has been deeply committed to the North Philadelphia community since its founding in 2003, and intentionally located KNPA in a former district building at 16th and Cumberland. KNPA reserves at least 50% of its spots for students living in the 19121 and 19132 zip codes surrounding the school. Building off the success of KIPP Philadelphia's original elementary school, which is the highest performing public elementary school in North Philadelphia, KNPA has the potential to more than double the number of students in this community engaging in math and reading on grade level.
