    JOB FUNCTION

    Provide support in developing and maintaining curriculum and instruction that optimizes teacher utilization and student access to eductation; Increase staff knowledge of current curriculum and instruction, coach school staff on the use of curriculum and instruction, and increase student access to and knowledge of curriculum.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    This list is not all-inclusive and is only intended to illustrate the various responsibilities and duties performed.

    1. Provide support to staff as they utilize data and incorporate curriculum to improve, practice, and refine differentiated and personalized instruction for students.

    2. Provide individual and group professional development in implementing the use of curriculum to differentiate and personalize instruction and promote student growth.

    3. Provide school and district-based high quality, standards-based, professional development, and work with certified and classified staff (both in groups and individually) to refine their knowledge and skills as it relates to curriculum.

    4. Develop and maintain a collection of just-in-time resources for teacher self-development.

    5. Conduct focused classroom demonstration lessons and observations; provide specific feedback to teachers.

    6. Meet and collaborate with academic directors and instructional coaches on curriculum development and opportunities for integration.

    7. Identify curriculum integration competencies among instructional staff in collaboration with administrators and deliver appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support the professional growth of adult learners.

    8. Coach teachers in and model the design and implementation of curriculum-enhanced learning experiences using a variety of research-based, learner-centred instructional strategies, resources, and assessment tools.

    9. Assist in identifying, planning, and facilitating workshops, Institute Day and School Improvement activities, Professional Growth Credit, and other in-service programs that contribute to the training and development of staff.

    10. Support the Curriculum & Instruction Director in large-scale assessment administration.

    11. Coordinate action research in collaboration with teachers and PLC groups to evaluate the effectiveness of coaching support.

    12. Participate in the decision making processes related to curriculum and instruction acquisition and deployment.

    13. Aggregate data from local and state-wide assessments in a way for administrators, instructional coaches and/or teachers may filter to tailor instruction.

    14. Attend weekly PLCs and Instructional Coaching meetings.

    15. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

    16. Collaborate with the Director to prepare and process various district documents to meet district, county, state and/or federal regulations.

    17. Input various data into computer systems to meet district, county, state, and federal regulations.

    18. Attend meetings, training, and seminars as required.

    19. Continue professional development as provided by the District.

    20. Other duties as assigned by the Principal and Director.

    3. Organization, planning, and program evaluation strategies, techniques, and procedures.

    4. Curriculum and instruction, and design and delivery systems specific to curriculum and instruction.

    5. Research and development strategies, processes, and techniques.

    6. Human relationships, conflict resolution strategies and procedures, and team-building methods and techniques.

    7. Communicate effectively in oral and written form, utilizing a simplistic communication mode to ensure understandable and thorough communication.

    8. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

    9. Organize, evaluate, and analyze data and plan actions based on the data collected.

    10. Serve as a resource in classroom management, curriculum, instruction, assessment and technology for instructional staff.

    11. Train and provide work direction to others.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in a job-related area, a valid Illinois Professional Educator License, and 3 years of experience in the field of elementary education are required. Master's degree and General Administrative Endorsement or Principal Endorsement is preferred. Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum requirements.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. The general job required 30% sitting, 50% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
