CEO/Superintendent

The ASK Academy  (Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge), a 6^th-12^th grade charter school in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, is a STEM innovation school with a project-based approach to teaching and learning and was noted as among the top 10% of high schools in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report  two years ago.  The 650 scholars follow one of two career pathways—Biomedical Sciences or Engineering and Design. ASK Academy has entered its second decade and is searching for innovative, visionary leadership from a CEO who would: ensure the school’s mission and goals are met; operationalize the school’s strategic plan; guide faculty and staff in maintaining the high standards held at ASK; lead in growth and sustainability planning and implementation; lead and manage site expansion and growth; manage general organizational responsibilities; and continue building internal and external relationships to promote the ASK Academy. The CEO would provide direct supervision and support for:  the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the High School Principal, the Middle School Principal, and the Director of Special Services.

Requirements include:  a master’s degree or higher (doctorate preferred) in Educational Administration/Leadership or related area (e.g. Organizational Leadership); Educational Administrator licensure/certification (preferred); 5 or more years of executive leadership experience; knowledge of state and federal education laws and guidelines, including specific ones for charter schools; knowledge of public/school finance, including compliance issues, funding streams and working with a foundation (2 or more years direct work in finance preferred); exemplary written and presentation skills; and familiarity with ASK’s STEM focus and project-based learning approach.

The position will be available to begin the 2022-23 school year July 1^st.  The base salary for this position is currently $118,000 and is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience.
