  • POSITION: Physical Education Teacher/Health Teacher
    LOCATION: Nashua High School
    1 semester at Nashua High North, 1 semester at Nashua High South
    SCHOOL YEAR: 2022-2023 SY
    SALARY RANGE: Contractual
    QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching applicants must be NH certified or eligible to teach Health Education. Registered Nurse license required with two years experience and one year experience in long-term care.

    SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Provides training and instruction in a Career Technical Training program. Ability to implement lesson plans, structure curriculum, actively engage and prepare students for long term employment. Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate and assist each student as required. Ensures that students receive adequate knowledge and experience regarding instruments and equipment of the trade; nursing homes; home health areas; hospitals; patient care; specific skills relevant to professional ethics and standards; and use and understanding of relevant terminology.

    A Teacher in the Nashua School District is highly qualified for the delivery of specified course content, uses effective strategies for differentiation, interacts positively, professionally, showing respect with students and parents, expects students to learn and not fail, actively engages students in lessons that are planned around grade level expectations and enhance critical thinking skills. Teachers implement instructional strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. The effective teacher inspires and empowers students in their own learning and collaborates with their peers regularly to align curriculum and enhance the instructional environment towards gains in student performance goals. Professional obligations of teachers are met through continuous pursuit of new understanding of teaching and learning, reflection on their own practices and beliefs and through efficient work habits for planning lessons, meeting deadlines and honoring schedules.
