Position: Long Term Substitute Counselor / Full-time (1.000 FTE)
Gov. Kate Brown has directed that Oregon will implement a legal requirement that all public and private school teachers, staff, coaches and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. "Fully vaccinated" is defined as 14 days after receiving all required doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (currently two shots of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of Johnson & Johnson vaccine). All staff members will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Exceptions may be made only for eligible medical or religious reasons. There will not be an option to opt out for other reasons or choose testing in lieu of vaccination, under the state mandate .
Position Summary:
The School Counselor will provide guidance to students in the development and implementation of appropriate educational plans. Assist students in dealing with special problems and needs as well as the development of personal/social behaviors.
Qualifications:
Salary/Benefits: $300.00 per day (Oregon Trail School District has temporarily increased the Substitute Teacher daily rate to $300 per day. This increase is temporary and will expire on June 17, 2022.)

- Licensed as counselor by Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission
- Master's Degree in school counseling
- Conduct timely individual counseling sessions as requested by students, staff or parents
- Facilitate communication between students, parents and staff
- Clarify goals and move toward appropriate solutions
- Provide group counseling for designated studentsM
- Monitor and evaluate to ensure agreements are met
- Provide immediate counseling for students in crisis
