Description of Service Opportunity:
The 2022 Summer Building Coordinator will manage operations at one of 5 CPS building sites to support the needs of students participating in onsite summer programs. This position is hired by the CPS Operations Department and reports jointly to the Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, and the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education. The Summer Building Leader will be the district's primary point of contact for the building, responsible for supporting all of the independently-run summer programs in their assigned buildings with between 100-150 participating staff and students . The Summer Building Leader will be part of a collaborative team in their buildings, which includes the summer program leads, Building Custodian, City of Cambridge Department of Human Service Programs staff, and City of Cambridge Public Health Personnel.

The Summer Building Leader will be onsite 7:30 am-3:30pm (40 hrs per week) for 5 weeks, from Monday July 11th - Friday August 12th. In addition, the Summer Building Leader will be paid for up to 80 hours of planning and pre-program training after May 1st, at least 8 hours of which must be onsite between July 5-8th. Summer Building Leaders will be assigned to support one of the following buildings: Fletcher Maynard Academy, M.L. King School, Kennedy- Longfellow, King Open School, Morse, or Peabody School. Additional sites may be added depending on the final student enrollment at each building.
Duties will include:
Responsibility for day to day building operations management that ensures the well being of staff and students in all programs as well as the responsible use of CPS facilities.
Collaborating with school building leaders and summer program leads to ensure a smooth transition between school year and summer program use, including communication ahead of summer programs, finalizing room assignments for permits, and leading building tours for program leaders.
Complete all pre-summer orientation and training meetings, including medication distribution, transportation, meals distribution and summer safety procedures.
Meeting with all program leads assigned to their building before the start of the summer programs, including 1 building-wide meeting, to set shared expectations for the summer and coordinate the use of shared spaces and safe arrival and dismissal procedures for students.

Minimum Requirement/Job Qualifications:
Joint posting with 2022 Summer Building Coordinator @ FMA, King, Kennedy-Longfellow, King Open, Morse, and Peabody position.
Motivated, detail oriented, and responsible individual.
At least 2 years of experience working in an operations role in a school or out of school time environment. Candidates must be available for all program dates. and familiarity with CPS preferred.

Contract Dates:
May 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022

Contract Amount:
$32.00 per hour, not to exceed $2,304.00
