Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Long Term Substitute Teacher teaches a diverse school student population grade level standards based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development. Monitors, supervises, coordinates and enforces rules of conduct and behavior of assigned students, and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy. Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

Must possess a current Colorado Teacher License with appropriate endorsement.

Provides instruction in Language Arts following DPS standards-based curriculum.

KUNSMILLER CREATIVE ARTS ACADEMY is a magnet school designed to prepare students in grades kindergarten through 12 for creative and artistic careers while also providing a rigorous college-prep education. All students explore theatre arts, 2- and 3-D visual arts, media arts, instrumental and vocal music and dance. Students entering at middle school select arts studies they are passionate about and will lead to career-path studies in high school. We enroll 75% of our students from the Southwest Denver region, and 25% from other DPS regions and other school districts.
