Response for Teens specializes in building the emotional well-being of adolescents and their families. The program is youth-centered, sex positive and identity affirming. Clinical staff are responsible for providing individual, family and group clinical services to young people ages 12 - 24. This position oversees and coordinates prevention education staff, programs, and activities for Response for Teens.

Purpose:

Focusing on Response for Teens’ essential areas (sexual, relational, and mental wellness) the purpose of this position is to oversee and coordinate prevention education staff, programs, and activities and Leadership Development programming for Response for Teens.

 Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising community educators and intern staff positions.
  • Provide educational programming to adolescent and adult audiences including parents and professionals.
  • Using best practices and current research, writes, and/or updates educational interventions on subjects pertinent to adolescents.
  • Manage the community education calendar and scheduling.
  • Develop and maintains relationships and linkages to provide experiential education and prevention programs within junior highs, high schools, youth group programs, camps, synagogues, churches, and community organizations.
  • Collaborates with other JCFS staff.
  • Provides program development and oversight for on-site leadership groups
  • Negotiates fees with community agency and school staff. Works with Response and JCFS administration staff to invoice and collect fees.
  • Collaborate with JCFS Marketing on social media strategy and marketing programs.
  • Oversee Community Education staff’s electronic documentation.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and in-service training.
  • Attend and participate in management meetings.
  • Represent JCFS and Response and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in social work, education, social services, public health, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in delivering educational programming to adolescents preferably.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience working with groups, and both small and large community audiences preferred.
  • Position requires flexible scheduling which will include evening hours, early morning hours and some weekends.
  • The ability to travel within the Chicago metropolitan area and suburbs.
  • This position requires travel to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation and needs a reliable method of travel which allows you efficiently reach different sites in the Chicago metropolitan area.

 

New hires would need to be fully vaccinated with 1 or 2 doses and booster and provide their card upon hire OR begin receiving the booster within 2 weeks of being hired and participate in weekly COVID testing until fully vaccinated OR provide documentation for an ADA or religious exemption and participate in weekly COVID testing.
