Special Education Teacher - Horizons - Keene Middle School -To begin in the 2022-2023 school year
This is a grant funded position. The successful candidate needs to be certified or Alternative IV eligible in general special education. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, including enrollment in the NH Retirement System.
The Horizons program focuses on delivering specialized instruction for basic academic skills, daily living skills and social skills while integrating students into inclusionary settings to the greatest extent possible. Students in Horizons are either coded with an Intellectual Disability, Autism or are functioning multiple levels below their grade equivalent which requires academic and living skills instruction in a small group setting. The Horizons teacher/case manager will be planning for and delivering individualized instruction to students who require an ABA approach to learning academics, daily living skills and behavioral expectations based IEPs. The students often have individual staffing needs. There is a BCBA who assists with programming.
