Teacher Leader - S.S Cyril and Philomena

Independence Mission Schools is looking for candidates who have a commitment to our mission, a growth mindset for themselves and students, experience in differentiating instruction based on comprehensive data analysis in order to meet each student's needs, and a desire to work in a collaborative setting as an educational leader.

The coach develops and supports S.S Cyril and Philomena teachers by providing guidance and assistance to improve student outcomes. These outcomes are measured by relevant assessments as determined by the administrative team and IMS Central Office. A background in K-4 education is preferable.

Responsibilities:

Teacher Support:

• Observe and provide feedback to 10-12 teachers in curriculum and instruction
• Ensure teachers are monitoring and documenting student progress, and are able to articulate that to appropriate persons
• Mentor teachers on best practices and curriculum/instruction
• Train/support new teachers
• Assist with lesson planning
• Help teachers use data to differentiate groups within the classroom
• Support planning and facilitating school-based professional development

Desirable Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or qualifying area of study
• State of Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
• Support mission of the school
• Team player
• Flexible and open to new ideas
• Can interpret and articulate student measures of growth

• Understand assessments and their implications for instruction
