Job Description:

The Blake School seeks to hire energetic and enthusiastic counselors for its Acoma day camps. Camp Acoma serves children ages 4-13 from Blake and the larger Twin Cities community. Camp counselors must be available for one week of training prior to the start of the seven-week day camp program. Summer staff training will be held the week of June 13. Camp Acoma will take place on Blake's Hopkins campus from June 21 through August 5. The Camp Acoma Bears, Adventure and Leaders in Training programs serve 80-100 children ages 5-13; the Cubs program serves 20-30 children ages 4-5.

Camp Acoma counselors are responsible for assisting lead counselors and camp directors in all arts, technology, athletic, recreational and field trip activities. Counselors report to lead counselors and Acoma directors to ensure a safe, fun, enriching and nurturing environment for all campers. Camp counselors are scheduled for 25-38 hours per week around the Camp Acoma schedule, which operates Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Experience working with children ages 4-13 and day/recreational camp experience is preferred. Candidates with experience in lifeguarding, swim instruction, visual and performing arts and technology instruction are desired. Candidates with interest or experience in leading team building and adventure-based learning for older campers (ages 8-13) are also encouraged to apply.
