Information Technology Services (ITS) Field Technician
Unaffiliated Position
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
40 Hours per Week


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Candidate will possess and continually demonstrate aptitude for growth in Technology Engineering Skills and Practices. Perform software, hardware and physical infrastructure/device troubleshooting and diagnostics. Deploys end user network connected devices including computing devices, printers/IP phones, etc. Loads application software, providing technical support for mission specific end user software. Ability to provide non-technical and technical end users with clear and accurate directions. Dependable, effective, well-mannered and able to work with all different types of clients (Students, Families, General BPS Staff, Teachers, Administrators, Board Members).

MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Deployment of user and network devices:
    1. Windows, Mac, iPad, Android and Chrome OS computing devices
    2. Network devices such as Wireless Access Points, Telephony Devices & Video Cameras
    3. Rackmount equipment such as audio/visual equipment and networked devices
    4. Printers, scanners and fax machines
  2. Software deployment and upgrades Including:
    1. Operating System Images
    2. Software Applications and Hardware Firmware
  3. Install wired connections for network, audio and visual connectivity, including wire molding/cable raceways.
  4. Install/mount audio/video equipment such as interactive displays.
  5. Deployment of endpoint devices to all sites in the district.
  6. Assists in maintaining inventory of all District equipment.
  7. Ability to Install wired network connection drops with CAT5/6 termination skills required
  8. On-site deployment of endpoint devices to District schools and administrator offices
  9. Assists in maintaining inventory of all District equipment
  10. Support users computing and backup user computer data as needed.
  11. Provide both on-site assistance and remote assistance to users.
  12. Provide on-site assistance and remote assistance to users (various District supported users)
  13. ?Process computers for recycling and data destruction
  14. Must be able to move and carry equipment up to 50lbs
  15. Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Information Technology or designee


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology
  2. CCNA, A-Plus and/or Network plus certification(s) preferred
  3. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Information Technology field
  4. Experience providing hardware and software support services directly to end users who may not be technically savvy
  5. Experience providing technology service delivery with end point user satisfaction
  6. Familiarity with device imaging techniques and industry standard management software including Microsoft SCCM and Intune for Endpoint.
  7. Anti-malware
  8. Excellent troubleshooting techniques and ability to actively ensure user uptime and needs
  9. ?Strong organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up
