Part Time Position
January 2022 - June 2022

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provides an atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for artistic and intellectual growth.
  2. Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives, to reflect programmatic goals, curriculum policies, and the knowledge, skills, progress, and needs of one's students.
  3. Designs lessons that provide opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic, real-world problems.
  4. Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students.
  5. Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
  6. Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  7. Monitors, and evaluates students' progress in relation to district/school curriculum and policies and other planned goals and objectives.
  8. Encourages, secures, and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction.
  9. Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress and needs.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Classroom Supervision:
  1. Create space for students to explore their creative side and feel safe.
  2. Promote positive self-concept in each student; provide encouragement to each student to develop his or her full potential.
  3. Understand social and emotional adjustments of students.
  4. Promote student awareness and respect for different cultures.
  5. Maintain records of individual students' progress through appropriate assessments. Provide feedback throughout the process.
  6. Maintain accurate student attendance and tardiness records.

Professional Responsibility
  1. Work in the interest of the students' physical and emotional welfare and to embrace a growth mindset.
  2. Keep inventory of materials, equipment and supplies and work with school administration to order supplies and maintain the dance studio space.
  3. Participate as appropriate in programmatic-community public performances.
  4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of people.
  5. Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Required certification: Music, Grades PK-12 (049); Master's degree preferred - Focus on Percussion/Drum Line
  2. Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
  3. Experience in the use of educational technology.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Hourly rate: $38.50

Hours : Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, 2:45pm - 4:45pm from January 2022 - June 2022
