CHILD NUTRITION CAFETERIA STAFF WORKER

    Child Nutrition Coordinator and Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager

    SUPERVISES:

    N/A

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Works as a team member to prepare wholesale and nutritious meals in a sanitary environment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Cleans up preparation area, equipment, dining area, and other facilities.
  • Arranges and garnishes serving line and serves on or replenishes line as assigned.
  • Prepares food in a timely manner and properly stores and labels leftovers.
  • Fills in for other staff in case of emergency.
  • Prepares and cooks specified foods appropriately seasoned.
  • Checks availability of items/ingredients for next day's menu.
  • Operates dish washing machine during meal and uses equipment safely and properly.
  • Cleans tables, furnishings, and floors in dining and kitchen area.
  • Assists in receiving and storing food items, etc., and maintains storage areas and inventory.
  • Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
  • Observes trays and records accurate meal count according to student eligibility.
  • Collects and records cash transactions daily and maintains a master roster on the line.
  • Prepares tally sheet, meals served reports, and cash reconciliation sheet each day.
  • Collects and records advance meal sales on Monday when applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned by the child nutrition cafeteria manager, child nutrition director, principal, or assistant principal.
  • Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school climate.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.

    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
