GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Electrical Instructor provides instruction in all aspects of electricity to high school students.

Under the supervision of the Principal, the Electrical Instructor provides instruction in all aspects of electricity to high school students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist students in enhancing their skills in the areas necessary to seek employment in the electrical/construction industry
- Integrate the instruction of basic skills into the career and technical curriculum
- Prepare students for entry-level employment into the electrical/construction industry or for post-secondary study
- Assist students to be successful in career and technical education by monitoring their technical, basic skills, and placement records
- Train students where they can earn an industry certification
- Hold pertinent license and be eligible for the National Center for Constructional Education & Research (NCCER) or occupational license
- Must be willing to participate in continuing professional development
- Have the ability to supervise students in an electrical/construction lab and on location at internships
- Have verifiable work experience outside of education
- Have the ability to improve and enhance the program based upon the skills that electrical/construction industry employers are demanding
- Have the ability to develop partnerships with area employers
- Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement
- Must have 3-5 years of work experience in the electrical/construction industry
