ELA Curriculum & Instruction Specialist - Michigan

SUMMARY:

The ELA Curriculum Specialist will report directly to the ELA Curriculum Manager and will be responsible for supporting schools in curricular needs relating to programs, resources and documents. The position is located in Michigan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Write and facilitate professional development around ELA curriculum and instruction
  • Support in providing vision and direction for ELA curriculum and instruction for all NHA schools
  • Model effective literacy and intervention instruction
  • Write and execute lesson plans, assessments, or other instructional routines/frameworks
  • Work to enhance teacher quality through direct coaching at schools around effective instruction, data analysis, and assessment administration

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education is required, Master's Degree in preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred
  • Experience writing and presenting professional development
  • Experience coaching teachers and/or instructional leaders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience completing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use technology for collaboration
  • Ability to function within general assignment of responsiblities
  • Ability to travel as required (approximately 2-5 overnights per month)
