Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a systemic, continuous improvement framework in which data-based problem-solving and decision making is practiced across all levels of the educational system for supporting students. The MTSS/PST Support Teacher will be responsible for supporting the overall management of the Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS)/Response to Interventions (RTI). Assist in developing a systematic school-wide approach to MTSS emphasizing the learning loss associated with Tier I core instruction. Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of classroom intervention programs utilizing the MTSS/RTI framework. Provides direct coaching/instruction with tiered interventions and instructional support on Tiers II and III PST processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coaching staff through (2) tired levels of MTSS/RTI Interventions.
  • Coaching using the problem-solving model (PST).
  • Assist schools in understanding screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring data for the purpose of identification of struggling learners, instruction/intervention design, and students' response to interventions, respectively.
  • Provide individual and small group training designed to meet individual needs and motivate students in pull out and/or classroom setting.
  • Assist with designing intervention and monitoring response to intervention for PST students who are struggling.
  • Assist schools in developing strategic plans for intervention and growth for all students.
  • Monitor and report out student achievement data associated with the multi-tier assessments.
  • Facilitating a team-lead w/ functional behavior assessment and designing evidence-based intervention plan.
  • Participating in a School Improvement Planning process.
  • Communicate and work closely with the administration, school-based interventionist, curriculum coach, regular classroom teachers while assisting in the development of each students' intervention program.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement Response to Intervention.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of data collection and progress monitoring as it relates to district schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
