Position overview:

As Compensation Analyst you will support the Director of Non-Instructional Compensation in the development of new programs and/or enhancements to current compensation programs, policies and procedures in order to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable, cost-effective, aligned with Company policies and business objectives, provide the ability to attract and retain key talent, and are in compliance with state and federal legislation. While our Compensation Analysts adapt to support with projects as our needs evolve, we have an immediate opening for a Compensation Analyst responsible for our org-wide processes. In this role, you will lead process improvement, training, communication, and administration of critical annual processes that impact thousands of IDEA employees such as our pay increase process and performance and incentive pay.

This is a national full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in TX or who are willing to relocate. You will be expected to travel up to four times a year for broader learning and growth opportunities with the Compensation and Benefits team.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $51,900 and $61,800 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.

In this role you will:
• Partner closely with our Talent Management team, Talent Management Application Manager, and Compensation team for process integration for all processes in improve process efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity in our Talent Management system (Cornerstone).
• Assist with interpreting, creating, and communicating compensation policies.
• Build tasks for annual pay increase and performance and incentive processes in Cornerstone system.
• With manager support, create training and communication for managers and employees related to our pay increase process, performance and incentive process, and senior designation process.
• Partner with the Payroll team to provide audit support for the annual pay increase and performance and incentive processes.
• Counsel and advise managers regarding compensation-related matters through office hours and responsive support.
• Provide timely and informative responses to managers and staff on any questions/needs related to IDEA's annual processes through our Customer Service support desk.

Required experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
  • Experience: At least two to three years of experience managing processes for large organizations required. Compensation specific experience preferred as well as experience in public sector and/or education.
  • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable): CCP or other compensation related professional certification preferred
  • Required technology: Confidence in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) required. Familiarity with Cornerstone talent management system and Microsoft automation tools a plus.


Goals:

As part of the Non-Instructional Compensation team, you will contribute to reaching the following ambitious goals:
  1. 2% increase in Non-instructional Staff believe they are Compensated Fairly on the Great Place to Work Survey
  2. 99% new pay rate accuracy of first paychecks of the first work calendar of the new fiscal year
  3. 95% accuracy of Performance/Incentive Pay Bonus to be paid on time by established deadline
  4. 95% of Zendesk tickets responded to within 24 hours and resolved within 48 hours
  5. 98% retention of Sr. Designated (high-performing long-term) staff
