ELEMENTARY SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Looking for a compassionate individual who will be committed to students learning and success to work as a Substitute Teacher.

PURPOSE: Substitute Teachers play a vital role in the educational process. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom environment that is effective, safe, and conducive to learning and have the unique ability to teach with a rapidly changing classroom population of various skills and progress levels. Adaptability is key!

Required Qualifications:

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Possess the necessary License/Certification required by the State of Ohio.
• Experience working with school aged children

Other Requirements:

• Able to adapt to the complexities of the urban school environment
• Support the District's values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians, and coworkers
• Interact frequently and respoectfully with children

Job Description:

• Follow lesson plans to deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction which reflects observations and goals of individual childern
• Maintains existing classroom management and discipline procedures
• Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom
• Establish a classroom culture of high expectations, including college preparation for all children
• Keeps students and the classroom environment organized, safe and engaged
• Monitors students progress and assists where needed by keeping close proximity
• Understand building and classroom policy and procedures
• Provides written feedback for school leadership to frequently examine student data for ongoing refinement of instruction and assessment
• Maintains accurate attendance records
