GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for providing support to the delivery of Human Resource Services with specific responsibility for ensuring the technical accuracy of data related to employment; addressing a variety of issues and/or providing general support; and ensuring that personnel functions conform to all applicable regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Administer a wide variety of personnel transactions and programs within the Human Resources Information System to comply with District policies, relevant laws, contracts and agreements.

Communicate effectively with other employees, departments, and administrators to provide information and assistance concerning employment data, personnel records and related legal requirements.

Maintain and update historical employment data.

Compile data from a variety of sources to comply policies, board of education directives, and financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.

May assist with gathering data and advising employees and administrators regarding employment regulations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Maintain manual and electronic documents, files, and records to provide accurate information in compliance with established guidelines.

Prepare a variety of reports and related documents utilizing the Human Resources Information System providing documentation and information to others thus ensuring proper payroll processing.

Respond to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel and/or identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a correction plan.

Support assigned administrative personnel providing assistance with administrative functions.

Attend meetings in order to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.

Perform other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred

Minimum of two (2) years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility preferred

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.

Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: personnel practices applied within a school district environment; interpreting contract language; and codes, regulations & laws related to the job functions.

Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including: data entry via various human resources systems, planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; maintaining superior organization; operating standard office equipment; and utilizing pertinent software applications.

Ability to read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions.

Ability to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.

Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is sedentary work that requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: handling, hearing, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity and walking.
