Job Description:

TITLE: Assistant Track and Field Coach

Summary:

Following the mission of The Blake School and the core purposes of the athletic department, the assistant coach will direct, serve, and coordinate under the direction of the Head Coach in their program.

The Blake Track and Field Program competes in the Independent Metro Athletic Conference, which is part of the Minnesota State High School League.

Job Duties:

• Assistant in planning and coordinating all schedules and practice
• player development
• assist in aspects of the youth program in their sport
• provide on and off athletic facility training opportunities that include instruction, management, and teaching of all student/athletes
• organizing game scouting and planning
• communicating to players and parents
• other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• strong knowledge of the sport
• experience coaching with demonstrated success at the high school or collegiate level
• passion for working with the high school athlete
• ability to balance team building with individual skill building
• integrity and fairness
• support the head coach with the vision for their program
