All applicants must be licensed by the Kansas State Department of Education, prior to applying. *Secondary Art endorsement is prefered
After you have submitted your application you will be contacted by email with instructions, if Derby Public Schools wishes to continue the application process of adding you to our pool of substitutes teachers. Orientation is required prior to substituting.

For information or to obtain a license from the State of Kansas Department of Education go to www.ksde.org.
We are accepting applications from individuals who have the following licenses:
• Emergency Substitute License
• Standard Substitute License
• Initial Teaching License
• Professional Teaching License
Substitute teachers must also provide a completed
Certification of Health for Substitutes. Certification of Health form will be accepted if dated
within the past year.
Rate of Pay for All Teacher and Nurse Substitutes
• Full Day $105
• Half Day $52.50
• Long Term Substitute Full Day $150*
