General Responsibilities:

Under general supervision assist with the
preparation, packaging and distribution of school meals. Promote
positive attitude and teamwork in the lunchroom in order to provide a
pleasant experience for students.

Examples of Duties:

  • Collect cash and report meals from students and adults including computer operation.
  • Distribute food in proper portions.
  • Clean tables, kitchen equipment and general food service area.
  • Maintain student account records.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of day long ServSafe Program on food safety and sanitation procedures before probation is completed.
  • Work requires walking, lifting, climbing, bending, reaching and kneeling.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Ability to ensure timely heating and serving of meals.
  • Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward
    one's own cultural competence, i.e., valuing difference/diversity,
    recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and
    having the desire to learn in these areas.
  • Six months of food service experience.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to work each day.
  • Three months of cashiering, customer service, or related experience.
Desired Qualifications:

  • Serve Safe Certification
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
