Job Description:

TITLE: Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach

Summary: Following the mission of The Blake School and the core purposes of the athletic department, the head boys varsity basketball coach will direct, serve, and coordinate the Blake School Girls Volleyball program.

The Blake Girls Volleyball Program competes in the Independent Metro Athletic Conference, which is part of the Minnesota State High School League.

Job Duties:
  • Help with planning and coordinating all schedules and practice
  • Help with player development
  • Work with the local arena staff
  • Assist in aspects of the youth volleyball program.
  • Provide on and off training opportunities that include instruction, management, and teaching of all student/athletes
  • Help with organizing game scouting and planning
  • Communicating to players and parents
  • Helping to guide players interested in collegiate volleyball through the process
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball
  • Experience coaching with demonstrated success at the high school or collegiate level
  • Passion for working with the high school athlete
  • Ability to balance team building with individual skill building
  • Integrity and fairness
  • Help create a vision for the volleyball program
