Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a Secondary Director of Teaching and Learning.
Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a licensed educational administrator who is equity focused and possesses deep knowledge of standard-based curriculum and instructional practices to lead and facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, assessment, instruction and professional learning for the general education and English Language Learner programs. Guided by the principles of the Iowa Standards for School Leaders (ISSL) and the district's vision, mission and goals, the Director will provide leadership and tactical strategies to school administrators, teachers, and staff by developing and supporting high-quality research-based curriculum and instruction as measured by its impact on student achievement.
Successful candidates for this position will possess:
Master's Degree with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction or closely-related field
Iowa Administrative certification with Evaluator approval
Highly Qualified candidates for this position will possess:
Experience in the design and delivery of professional development
Experience in K-12 ELL programming.

Salary Range for this position:
$99,902 - $127,400
This represents the minimum to mid-point of the salary range. Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education. Des Moines Public Schools offers a generous benefits package including:

- There is opportunity to have the $600/year waived via participation HealthyU program.
- Family Dental Insurance with a minimal monthly cost (Single dental insurance coverage at no cost)
- Family Vision Insurance at no cost to the employee
- Enrollment in IPERS (Iowa Public Employee Retirement System)--a defined benefit plan
- Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA): the contribution is 14% of the base salary.
- Moving expenses paid up to $6,000, if candidate moves into district boundary
