    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    Adams 14 is seeking an experienced instructional leader to provide direct intervention and acceleration to individuals and small groups of students who are significantly below-grade level in reading/writing.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Colorado secondary license (or eligibility to obtain) with endorsement in language arts or reading or an elementary license.
    BA in English, Reading, or Elementary Education.
    Masters in Reading Education preferred.
    Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
    Specific training and experience in literacy development preferred.
    Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:
    Prefer a minimum of three (3) years teaching reading/writing to struggling readers/writers.
    Knowledge of the five components of reading and best practices and strategies in teaching literacy.
    Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional learning.
    Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Knowledge and experience using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data.
    Must have well-developed creative problem solving skills to provide strategies for student success in reading.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Perform at a professional level in the area of literacy, instructional management, interpersonal relationships, professional responsibilities, and general responsibilities.
    Demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and student affective development.
    Be an effective communicator with staff, students, parents, and the community at large in support of educational programs.
    Demonstrate ability to plan for instruction by organizing standards-based curriculum and providing interventions and individualized data driven instruction for students in the area of literacy.
    Collaborate with the building principal, Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), school and district level language arts department and ELD department to design and implement a research-based instructional program.
    Ability to incorporate technology into instruction.
    Ability to set learning outcomes, with maximum sensitivity for student learning potential and collect appropriate data.
    Participate in embedded professional development meetings and attend additional related professional development offered outside of the school setting.
    Other duties as assigned by the principal.

    SALARY: $39.07 per hour
