Qualifications/Certifications:
SCOPE
Responsible for planning, preparing & limited programming of systems and activities, which are necessary
for producing reports, data, & system specifications by the use of department specified software &
hardware. Is expected to seek & analyze district computer software as needed & prepare complete
systems analysis, including internal system & programming specifications. Is expected to interact with the
user community as to achieve computer goals. Is expected to work with minimal supervision, have in depth
knowledge of programming practices, & handle all aspects of system design & programming problems
unassisted. Is expected to assist lower level Systems Analyst & Computer Programmers.
EDUCATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED:
' Bachelor's Degree required; Computer Science preferred
' 5 years relevant experience in related field required
' Hardware & software platforms experience consistent with the District's Information Systems Service
Strategic Plan
Preferred Additional Skills:
COBOL & multiple years of experience on IBM iSeries (AS/400) system. Experience in a K-12 education environment with Finance, Human Resource or Payroll systems. Programming using CLP, Query/400, or SQL. Other systems such as SEQUEL ViewPoint, WebSmart, Presto, JavaScript, CSS or HTML.
