    TITLE: Math Integration Specialist ( Coach) 2022-2023

    REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum
    Pay Range: $60,000- $70,000 yearly
    FLSA Status: Exempt

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Master's Degree Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
    Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
    Endorsement in Math
    Ability to communicate effectively with a broad constituency, including parents.
    Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
    Interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management and collaboration) to share research based instructional approaches with teachers and administrators and provide advice, mentoring and coaching.
    Strong organizational skills.

    Description:
    The Math Coach will support all staff in the implementation of District math curriculum. The Math Coach will work directly with teachers in a school providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development. The Math Coach will focus on enhancing teachers' ability to provide instruction that builds students' sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The Math Coach will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide.     Job Summary:
    1. Guide teachers to collect and analyze data and develop action plans in response to determined student needs.
    2. Provide individualized, classroom-based support to implement comprehensive program. This will include modeling of best teaching practices.
    3. Work with the principals within the grantee site to create a school-wide focus on goals for math achievement.
    4. Oversee the school's assessment procedure, training, data collection and collaborate with the Principal to complete reports due.
    5. Participate fully in professional development opportunities and professional research.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Math Coach will lead building efforts to increase math achievement for all student populations and facilitate the transition to and the implementation of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
    1. Assist teachers with the continued implementation of the district's Math Curriculum.
    2. Demonstrate exemplary math instruction for all teachers through the following researched-based practices: observation, coaching, model lessons, collaborative lesson planning, and small and large group professional development
    3. Plan and conduct Math team meetings through the PLC structure
    4. Assist with disaggregating and analyzing Benchmark and other district assessment data
    5. Assist in assessing district assessments and their appropriateness to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
    6. Monitor and report the effectiveness and progress of improved reading instruction and student performance to building Principal and PLC teams
    7. Help make recommendations regarding instructional materials
    8. Participate in various training sessions.
    9. Research and provide staff support that will improve teaching and learning - including: teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation, and use of assessment results, etc.
    10. Research, prepare materials, and identify resources for use by the district, teams, schools, and teachers - including: teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, and interpretation and use of assessment results, etc.
    11. Research and provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative math practices through various activities such as: individual discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre- and post- discussion/analysis, study groups, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
    12. Provides support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full implementation of the district's adopted math program through MAP score analysis/interpretation.
    13. Conducts demonstration lessons to ensure that all teachers have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using the instructional materials as designed.
    14. Provides on-site staff development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about program components and understand the instructional design of how the program meets the standards (alignment).
    15. Assists teachers in building an interactive classroom and assures that recommendations for improvement are implemented.
    16. Serves as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students.
    17. Assists teacher in preparation pacing for instruction.
    18. Participation in collaborative grade level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement.
    19. Assists grade level teams in setting goals for improved instruction and RTI implementation.
    20. Meets regularly (weekly) with the principal to review benchmarks and established data points to assess student progress towards established instructional goals.
    21. Prepare forms, records and reports as directed.
    22. Attends meetings and trainings as directed.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License and endorsement in Math.

    EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provision established by the Board of Education. The Math Coach will be evaluated by the Director of Curriculum.
