QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Ability to relate to children at the required level.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction from the Nurse and/or Principal.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Respect and protect the confidentiality of students, staff, families, etc.
  • Experience as a CNA/HHA preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director of Student Services may find appropriate and acceptable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Engage in training for control and prevention of communicable diseases.
  • If needed, supervise isolated symptomatic adults or students to prevent further transmission until they are picked up or dismissed.
  • Support building health/medical response with screening of students or staff as directed by the Nurse and/or Principal.
  • Render emergency first aid as necessary.
  • Address the needs of students who are referred to the office in the absence of the school nurse.
  • Assist the school nurse in the performance of his/her duties.
  • After attending medication delegation training, may need to provide student medication under the direction of the nurse.
  • Perform hearing and vision screening.
  • Maintain electronic student health records.
  • Collects physical exams and additional paperwork from local physicians.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Completed mandated school screenings as directed by the school nurse.
  • Perform such other tasks as may be assigned by nurse, and/or Principal.

SALARY: In accordance w/ non-union contract, commensurate w/ experience & credentials $19.03- $22.78
