PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the school principal in providing effective leadership to school faculty, staff, and students in all areas of the school's program and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists in the development, coordination and implementation of a comprehensive building level school improvement plan for responsive and efficient delivery of instructional services tailored to the instructional needs of the students.

Visits all classrooms on a regular basis to assess the quality of instruction; makes recommendations regarding instructional methods and procedures that facilitate effective instruction.

Provides leadership for developing and implementing new and innovative methods for improving the delivery of instruction.

Assists teachers in locating available resources based on student instructional needs which can be used to supplement adopted texts and the development of instructional materials designed to meet specific needs and objectives.

Develops and implements yearly performance objectives designed to improve student attendance, discipline, school climate and student success.

Assists principal in making regular systematic and accurate appraisals of teachers' instructional practices through scheduled classroom observations by monitoring and assessing teachers' professional performance.

Advises and assists teachers with classroom management and resolution of interpersonal relations conflicts between student/student and teacher/student.

Provides leadership in developing a positive school climate and harmonious multicultural, multiethnic educational environment.

Assists the principal in scheduling and conducting regular grade-level meetings and scheduled staff development for the purpose of facilitating teacher interaction, curriculum development and improved classroom performance.

Works with paraprofessionals in increase their abilities to assist teachers and students.

Assists principal to establish and supervise procedures for the security of school facilities and safety of all personnel and students.

Assumes administrative responsibility of the school in the principal's absence.

Performs any or all Medicaid Administrative Case Management duties, which serve to inform children and their families how to effectively access, use and maintain participation in all health resources under the Federal Medicaid program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree.

Hold, or be eligible for Missouri Certification in elementary school teaching.

Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in elementary school administration.

Five (5) years of elementary teaching experience.

Effective skills and abilities in interpersonal relations and communications.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Length of work year: 12 month calendar
