Special Education Teacher Evaluator
This is a temporary part-time position to assist special education teachers with the completion of academic evaluations as a result of a student's referral to the special education team. Assessment types may include WIAT, CTOPP, WIST, LAC, and FAR.
Position
Under the direct supervision of director of special education, to assist certified special education teachers with academic evaluations, student observations, and report writing. Successful candidates must hold or be eligible for special education certification, possess, strong writing and grammar skills, and be able to use word processing to produce clear and concise academic reports.
Essential Job Functions
Works with students individually or in a small group to complete academic assessments or progress monitoring.
Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student abilities in academic evaluations.
Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
Participates in IEP team meeting to present results as necessary to the evaluation process.
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of working with students in an evaluation situation.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to complete academic assessments
Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and students.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
Ability to establish a rapport with students in order to complete valid academic evaluations.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor and IEP team members
Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.
Ability to observe to student behavior/responses for the purpose of conducting academic evaluations and student observations.
General writing abilities to create clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic assessment reports
Ability to use word processing to create assessment reports
Ability to attend team meetings to verbally present results of evaluations.
