Location: Glacier Valley Elementary School
Hourly position (Less than 15 hours per week)
Position Description: This person coordinates parent volunteers within the school. Supports family engagement events and activities including inviting families and preparation for events.
The Parent Engagement Coordinators have various assignments depending on the schools, but their duties may include: making personal phone calls to families to invite them to school activities or providing families with information on how to be involved with their child's learning. At some schools, the parent engagement coordination involves Social Work, connecting families to community resources. Depending on the Title I-A school, the coordinator may also organize and publicize family activities; publish parent involvement information on the school newsletter or website, advertise parent conferences, maintain a parent resource lending library, may attend and assist with family night activities and track data such as parent participation at school events or may organize school announcements via social media, newsletters, or other avenues.
Minimum Requirements:
Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
