Position Title: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WATERBURY PROMISE PROGRAM (WPP)
Reports to: Office of the Mayor and Superintendent, Waterbury Public Schools (WPS)
Organization: Waterbury Promise Program, a 501 (c) (3) entity to be formed
Salary Range: $130,000 ~ $150,000 plus benefits
Primary Function: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the WPP; establishment and fulfillment of fundraising objectives; and developing a plan for sustainable funding. The Director is also responsible for developing operating guidelines for and providing leadership in the implementation of the WPP including the coordination and integration of the school district, higher education and other partner and community programs in support of ensuring college readiness, access and success for WPS students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and the ability to manage budgets.
- Ability to work creatively with a variety of stakeholders, including WPS, Higher Education entities, corporate, government and community leaders, students, and families.
- Knowledge about and/or familiarity with education-related issues.
- Excellent writing and communications skills with the ability to inspire stakeholders to participate in the WPP.
- Ability to organize, direct and implement program operations with limited resources.
- Strong computer skills, including basic competency in Microsoft Office, social media and others.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and demonstrates maturity and sound judgment when dealing with potential donors, media and other target audiences.
- Well regarded in and connected to the local community, especially in fund development community.
- Well organized; can operate independently to achieve results, and effectively manage multiple tasks
Required Education and Experience:
- Eight (8) years of a results-proven track record in nonprofit management.
- Master's degree in marketing/business, nonprofit management, or a related field from an accredited school, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience and record of success in annual fundraising campaigns including corporate, foundation, individual giving, and major and planned giving.
- Experience with special events, public relations and grant writing is preferred.
