Essential Functions:
  1. Plan and deliver in-person effective, high quality, culturally responsive, and explicit instruction to youth placed under the care of DYS Productively engage in all professional development and training and implement knowledge, skills, and methods promoted Implement instructional and assessment strategies, curriculum, and all other identified instructional materials, curriculum guides, and related resources promoted by CES and/or DYS as directedSupport the development and implementation of multiple pathways for learning, including, as appropriate, High School equivalency preparation (HiSET/GED), diploma, post-secondary coursework, career readiness, and vocational development.Use students' education background and related information to plan, co-plan, teach, and co-teach (as appropriate), including IEP goals and objectives, 504 plans, EYF education and career goals, learning style information, education assessment packet, etc.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or UniversityCurrent Massachusetts secondary level teacher licensure (8-12; 5-12) in English/Language Arts or Science.Additional grade levels (5-8) in the corresponding subject area is allowable for a duration of up to two years while the employee secures upper grade level certificationStrong written and oral communication skillsValid driver's license and reliable vehicle or method for attending trainings or other meetings as required at locations throughout the stateSheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers pursuant to ESE regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master's Degree from an accredited College or University

  2. Successful teaching experience with adolescents placed at-risk


Working Conditions: Onsite work with teachers and specialist at DYS programs and host agencies.

Workplace Health and Safety: Employees are expected to follow CES Workplace Safety Standards, host agency COVID Workplace Safety Standards and state guidance on COVID-19 prevention and mitigation. Expectations require wearing a mask, using gloves when cleaning, attention to social distancing guidelines, and complying with hygiene standards and surveillance testing required by host agencies. CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination, unless a medical (101 CMR 23.04(3)) or religious (101 CMR 23.04(4) exemption applies.

Compensation scale: SEIU CBA salary scale based on licensure and education. Range $38,732- $67,000

CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility, (MSRB and MTRS). Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year. .
