School Description:
Bethany School, the only K-8 Episcopal school in Ohio, is a co-ed day school of about 200 students located in the northwestern suburban village of Glendale outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. The school was founded in 1898 by the Community of the Transfiguration, a society of Episcopal women (“sisters”) and continues to serve the original mission of their ministry to this day.
Position Description: Bethany School is seeking a dynamic educator to serve as a seventh and eighth grade literature and language arts teacher to join our team for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. Candidates should be experienced and able to design lessons, units, and curriculum appropriate for this age group and to work in a collaborative, team environment. All faculty positions are on one year contracts.
Each Bethany faculty member is expected to demonstrate ability in the following areas:

● Collaborates with faculty to offer integrated and appropriate technology curriculum
● Implements a wide array of pedagogical tools and strategies in appropriate and effective combinations
● Facilitates and designs effective group/collaborative work and productive dialogue among students and teachers
● Communicates effectively and professionally with students/families about classwork, learning goals and student progress
● Demonstrates content knowledge and expertise; and scaffolds curriculum to ensure progress towards mastery of skills and concepts
● Collaborates and plans actively for learning with teachers and students
● Implements backward design to align lessons, activities, and assessments
Successful candidates will have or be able to:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required
● Teaching Certification or equivalent training
● A philosophy of education that aligns with the school’s mission and values
● Display an ease while working with students, parents, faculty, and other constituencies
● Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential records
● Demonstrate initiative regarding job related tasks, responsibilities, and projects
● Collaborate and work well in team settings
● Prioritize student safety and security
● Be dependable and professional: be punctual, complete work in a timely manner, be calm
under pressure, and exercise sound judgement
● Demonstrate mastery in classroom management and be willing to learn and implement

● Communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally
● Proficient in the use of technology

● Complete an Ohio BCI and FBI background check
