SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST:
Cleveland Hill UFSD is seeking a high-energy individual that is passionate about middle level education. The candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity and a firm belief in the worth and potential of all students.
Experience and Educational Requirements:

• The individual must have the ability to collaboratively work with colleagues, maintain accurate records and have a strong knowledge of outside resources available to support students.
• Assist with providing direct counseling services for students referred from grades 6-8 as needed.
• Conduct student mediations and conflict resolution.
• Provide group and individual counseling in response to school wide issues.
• Assist CHMS students and families in coping with personal and psychological issues that affect the student's school performance, behavior and socialization.
• Respond to referrals from school administration, parents, teachers, the Student Support Team.
• The individual must have knowledge of behavior modification techniques and have strong interpersonal skills.
• An understanding of the developmental needs of Middle School students.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to school counseling.
• Behavior management and behavior strategies, techniques, methods and conflict resolution procedures.
• Socio-economic and cultural background differences of general student population; Cultural responsiveness.
• Commitment to the success of all children.
