Summary
Assist school in the development, implementation and evaluation of English as a Second Language Instructional Programs, which promote growth for all students and teachers. Will provide leadership and guidance to teachers and work collaboratively with school faculty and administration in the implementation of differentiated instruction for (LEP) Limited English Proficient students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides instructional support to teachers of Limited English Proficient students
• Collaborate and cooperate with the ESL classroom teacher(s) to provide differentiated curricula for students.
• Participates in department/grade level meetings at the school.
• Participates in parent/teacher conferences related to instruction as needed.
• Assists in analyzing and utilizing student data for instructional purposes.
• Researches and provide instructional resource materials for K-12 teachers' classroom use.
  • Promotes communication and collaboration between ESL and mainstream teachers.
  • Identify and design professional development opportunities for teachers of LEP students.
  • Collaborates with the principal in formulating in-service training programs for teachers which will result in improved academic achievement and school climate.
  • Assists in development and demonstration of instructional strategies based on current research findings which promote cognitive and affective growth for all students.
  • Makes recommendations for the improvement of teacher performance with ESL instruction.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities that enhance the knowledge of the mainstream curriculum and instruction to adapt and incorporate effective practices with LEP students.
  • Any other duties assigned by NCLB Coordinator of Instruction and ESL Programs.

Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. ESL Certification is required with a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, preferably with the English language Learner population and / or at risk population. Professional development hours in a second language.

Salary Schedule: $47,702 plus years of experience verified.
