Requirements / Qualifications

Must Prove Certificated status with original transcripts and degree and credential. Must have TB. Any combination or equivalent to: Masters of Arts in Counseling, or Masters. with 5 years experience teaching, or experience in pupil personnel services. Licenses and other requirements: A California credential authorizing pupil personnel services or Teaching Credential. Enrollment in an Administrative Program. A valid Drivers License and Insurance

Fundamental Responsibilities: To provide academic and vocational guidance, counseling,discipline and supportive assistance to students. Develop community and college linkages for students. Administer State Proficiency Testing and other required assessments. Assess Individual Program Plans for entire school population.

Work Duties: •Develop and implement a guidance learning and counseling advisory program. Student discipline •Develop and follow progress of students' academic four-year plan. •Complete Individualized Program Plans and monitor the follow up of all program-projected objectives for students. •Develop and implement course schedules for entire school program. •Participate in enrollment orientations, and oversee class changes. •Provide Group and Individual Counseling. •Participate in Charter Attendance Teams (CAT) Standardize. •Assist in State Proficiency Testing and specialized testing as required. •Assist in the development of Mastery Skills Standards. •Coordinate student out reach at the local High School Level. •Collaborate with other High School Counselors to recruit students' district wide. •Provide career exploration and teach career development classes. •Arrange Job Fairs for students along with employment contacts. •Complete reports. •Organize and develop a peer mediation program that includes peer mediation training. •Assist with the coordination, development and supervision of student activities for before, during and after school. •Connect students with supportive services and other linkages in the community as needed. •Supervise and develop policies for registrars and supportive enrollment staff. •Develop study skills classes and curriculum. •Work in collaboration with several local colleges and vocational schools in the interest of the students' academics plan. •Assist with the supervision of college interns as needed. •Monitor transcripts and academic progress. •Request transcripts from other school when needed. •Perform related duties as assigned.
