Description:

• Special Education Classroom Instructional Assistant
• 7 hours per day

Qualifications:

• Paraeducator certification, 2 year post-secondary education, Associates degree, or Career Readiness certification required.
• Primarily responsible for monitoring student medical, behavioral, and academic needs
• Good communication skills
• Positive, calm, and caring
• Enjoys working with students with medical, behavioral, and academic challenges
• Able to redirect students towards positive behavior
• CPI trained and/or ability to obtain and maintain CPI certification
• Responsible for assisting teacher with individualized instruction
• Able to attend to personal hygiene of student
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently walk, stoop, band and sit. The Noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.
