Marist High School is seeking a full-time School Counselor. This is a full-time salaried faculty position with full benefits.
The School Counselor needs to be a person who models care and compassion for all - students, parents, faculty, and staff members. The minimum qualifications are required:
- commitment to the principles laid out by the Marist Brothers as set forth in Marist's mission statement;
- minimum five years counseling experience;
- Master's degree in school counseling;
- Illinois Professional Educator's License (PEL) with a School Counselor Endorsement (formerly Type 75);
- effective communication skills both in the verbal and written form;
- willingness to be an important part of developing a vision for the counseling department and holistic view of student health and wellness;
- demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and the external community;
- demonstrated ability to engage others in difficult conversations and manage conflict;
The School Counselor reports to the Director of Counseling. The position start date is effective immediately.
