Functional Area: Food Service
This position is a candidate pool and not a specific position at a school or department. This position may require an initial screening interview before being placed into the Candidate Pool. SUMMARY
Under general supervision, oversees distribution, delivery and receipt of food, supplies and materials. Maintains warehouse for the District, including food and supplies for the Child Nutrition Programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receives and processes food supplies and materials for refrigerated warehouse serving the Food Service Department (FSD) Nutrition Center central kitchen facility. Receives frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods according to food safety standards and established receiving guidelines; provides accurate receiving data to the Inventory Coordinator.
Operates powered forklift, and moves material according to work order and material requisition form; assists with loading and unloading of delivery trucks. Monitors work site to assure that safety rules and regulations are adhered to and that the work zone and all equipment are in compliance with state and local regulations.
Establishes basic inventory control procedures to manage warehouse supplies. Inspects and verifies accuracy and condition of all materials received and pulled from inventory against appropriate paperwork.
Practice safety and sanitation processes for food preparation, distribution, and storage.
Knowledge of FIFO procedures for food storage and selection.
Maintain accurate inventory, record keeping, and records management of FSD goods. Use of basic mathematical computations.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND one year of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience, preferably in a commercial foodservice setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Minnesota State Driver's License and Fork Lift Operator License are required.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Must acquire and maintain a Minnesota State Food Manager certification within sixty (60) days of the date of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors and outdoors at MPS facilities. May be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed including use of safety equipment; a job in this category may require walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and ability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Final appointment to this position will be contingent upon passing a criminal background check.
