**This position is an ESSER funded position through December 2023. This position is not eligible for tenure.
School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Responsible for the delivery of comprehensive psychological services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer tests for initial referrals and reevaluations in accordance with applicable law.
  • Interpret testing data and prepare a comprehensive report of evaluation results.
  • Maintain and submit weekly log of student referrals.
  • Selects appropriate tests for student assessment in accordance with applicable law.
  • Attends referral/eligibility meetings on individual students as needed.
  • Counsels student and/or in groups.
  • Confers with resource consultants, supervisors, coordinators, teachers and parents/guardians as requested.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and professional organization meetings for staff development as requested.
  • Keeps informed regarding research in psychological practices in the areas testing results interpretation.
  • Works with outside agencies to assist in providing appropriate assessments, placements and transition services.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Engages in professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and effective leadership.
  • Develops and conducts training programs on new or updated assessments, evaluations, and other areas as needed.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner.
  • Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Uses effective collaboration skills to work as an effective team member.
  • Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher in psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification as a school psychologist or related field.
  • License Psychologist.
  • Three (3) years of psychology experience;
  • A valid driver's license.
