POSITION: Schedule II Secretary - Principal's Office
LOCATION: Pennichuck Middle School
WORK YEAR: Schedule II - Full time SY and part time in the summer
STARTING: ASAP
SALARY RANGE: $19.29 per hour, Benefits per Union Contract
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school education-Business Education curriculum, typing/keyboarding and work experience involving business office procedures and practices with ability to use office equipment/technology effectively. We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software. Experience with student database systems preferred. Must be a people person who would enjoy the challenge of working in a busy school office environment. Computer literate; types 40 wpm with no more than 3 errors in a 5 minute test; ability to maintain records and prepare reports; ability to get along well with others, tactful and courteous; maintains confidentiality; word and data processing computer experience; 2 years prior experience in related work desirable.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as receptionist; takes phone messages and gives general information in response to inquiries. Types and/or distributes correspondence, reports, bulletins, daily notices, newsletter, and other miscellaneous materials.Reads and routes incoming mail. Compiles data for pupil attendance including absentees, tardies, and dismissals; maintains school registers. Assists in maintaining computerized school database. Compiles data and prepares reports and lists. Maintains files and records. Serves as liaison with school district transportation office and performs related services. Operates office equipment. Screens discipline cases referred to office and makes referrals to the appropriate administrator as required. Forwards student permanent records to receiving schools during summer; processes student permanent records from sending schools during summer vacation period. Registers new students during summer vacation period. Performs such other duties as assigned by the Principal.
