Job Description

Summary of Role
The Director of Strategy and Operations is responsible for the strategic direction and overall operations of the High School Curriculum and Assessment Team (HS CAT). This includes all activities around the operations, cross-regional coordination, and communications related to curriculum and assessments as well as implementation of the strategic vision of the team to ensure all high schools are driving towards key student achievement outcomes.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Lead Operations
• Supervise Associate and all operational aspects of high school curriculum and assessments
• Build, maintain, and lead team project plans from inception to full implementation
• Coordinate, communicate, and drive process implementation of network-wide and College Board assessments with regions
• Lead hiring process of curriculum planners
• Serve on the Academic Council and annually update and communicate academic policies
• Work closely with high school leaders and Home Office teams to implement initiatives and core responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Implementation
• Initiate and collaborate with Senior Director of HS CAT on yearly strategy
• Build the monthly map and calendar for HS CAT workstreams
• Be proactive around HS CAT's short- and long-term priorities and needs by staying ahead of and circling back
• Generate data reports and respond to other reporting needs
• Participate in content walkthroughs and school visits to establish relationships and assess HS CAT initiatives
Team Management
• Drive weekly check-ins with Associate to ensure key workstreams are on track and to support growth and development
• Drive biweekly check-ins with Content Directors to support key workstream operations
Organizational Relationships
• Report to Senior Director of HS CAT, and coordinate with the 9-12 Chief Schools Officer Chief of Staff
• Serve as the point person of operations and collaborate closely with regions and the Home Office
• Collaborate with the K-8 CAT Director of Strategy and Operations on common instructional initiatives, middle to high school transition, and professional development
• Coordinate with the K-12 Content Development Team to support logistics and operations of professional development
• Participate in Principal Meetings and select K-12 Assistant Superintendent Meetings
• Participate in regular High School Leadership Team meetings

• Work with and build impactful relationships with regional operations teams, school
leadership teams, Assistant Superintendents, Associate Chief Operating Officers, Directors of
Operations, and curriculum planners
• Respond to Home Office and Regional Team ad hoc requests
• Support internal and external HS CAT communication
• Build strong team culture
• Accomplish other responsibilities as needed

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred
Experience Requirements
• 5+ years of professional work experience leading strategic planning, operations, and
communications with clarity and top-of-the-line customer service
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Travel Requirements
• Travel for network-wide professional development in select regions about 1-2 times per
quarter and in all regions during Summer Professional Development
